depends on what you mean by "keep up with things". if something's already out and you just want to see the latest releases then it technically doesn't make a difference but they're very very very slow with updating their upcoming previews. if you want to really keep abreast of the JAV release schedule and effectively anticipate/look forward to new movies coming out a month in advance like some of us like to do, javlibrary is inadequate (even if it's the more functional database with better search functionality)

if you don't have a VPN to access DMM (Proton VPN is free but some users have reported not being able to access the Japanese server for some reason even though I can - maybe it depends on your locale), you could just use javtrailers: their metadata isn't as thorough as javlibrary but are much quicker to update - usually same day whenever previews come out but still slower than studio websites or social media. also note that they may put the haishin day as the release day which may or may not be confusing

i'm still working on my JAV release schedule guide. the WILL-owned studios are pretty much all done; it's the other studios being less standardised that's delaying my progress (i.e. making me want to procrastinate more kek)
