Thing is, it looks bland on first sight due to the majority of the neutral colors on it, try using grayish-black for the base black and for the grays, use bluish-gray. (Then again this isn't the case if you made the rollover >>6456067 said because we wouldn't be able to see than in a static image.)

Another idea is that you could also do something like a three color icon which extends to each menu, something like the attached image.

Honestly speaking, it's harder to think of a concept for a tri-color + neutral color scheme rather than a single or dual color scheme. Gambatte, anon!
