Ripple isn't half bad. Right when I started it wasn't bad, and now, after 3 routes, it still isn't. It's actually kinda good, if you keep the "it's old" thing in mind. Saving only at specific points. No backlog. No voice-replay. Only a generic skip function that skips everything. Small as fuck text. But the voice-acting isn't ear-cancer at least. That's always kinda hit and miss once you get to the early 2000s. Would've been nice though, if Giga polished the engine a bit for the Royal Sweet box. But alas, they didn't. Or it was even worse before, I don't really know.

Other than that, the game is actually fun. The strength is definitely not the serious parts. Those generally seem to come fast and go fast though, so it's fine. The length is rather short, even for having 8 routes, but I think it mostly just feels like this, because nowadays everything is padded so much. Having only 10 (kinda short) ero scenes for 8 routes also means a lot less ahn~ in the script of course. Best girl is probably pic related, an osaka girl. It's kinda fun hearing her dialect all the time. Will still read one more route though.


That said, I really need to look into a good debugger to get some text hooking started for these old games. It's readable, but it's not a nice experience after a while. My old version of cheat engine just crashes the game after it attaches, which may however also be something on Giga I guess? (as in detecting the debugger and just shutting down) Well, next time maybe.
