The real answer might anger some people, but here it goes: high IQ is more common in men. It's a male trait. The brain perceives it as such. That's why a dumbass normie girl will always be hotter than some overly intelligent nerd, assuming they both have a similar appearance. Plus, men are inherently attracted to childlike traits (it's the opposite for women, they find reliability and older men attractive). Women are perpetually teenagers with childlike minds and average IQ. They APPEAR to mature as they grow into adults, but that's only their life experience and knowledge creating an illusion of intellectual growth. In reality their brains stop maturing at 14/15. Males naturally find these childlike traits attractive and associate them with females. That's why too much intelligence is off-putting, barring some especific kinks and fetishes where a girl being super intelligent and dominating you is your thing.

Krauss was being a sexist prick during that scene in EP3, but he wasn't entirely wrong. A woman's intelligence is like sugar in black tea. They are little more than animals without it, but too much ruins the taste.

Bern and Lambda seem to love their identities, their pasts and especially each other (albeit in a love-hate kind of way due to what happened in Gou) way too much to ever consider the memory-wipe option again. They could choose to be reincarnated as anyone, in any kind of world, reality or time-frame. But it would mean abandoning their current identities and their special bond.

This is why voyager witches are said to "fear ascending in power and becoming creators". They are already way too free, not being tied to any particular territory or lore that gives their identity some ground to stand on. Their personality and appearance are maintained by pure force of will and the love they have for each other, so if they ever get bored or forget who they are, they could turn into "seaweed" and vanish. They are literally a wandering pair of nobodies, they have no real limitations in their existence apart from their memories of the past.

Bern and Lamba are actively choosing to be evil and fuck up entire fragments so they can have fun and stave off boredom without reincarnating as someone else of their choice. They want to keep their identities forever without ever erasing any of their memories to get a fresh start. Which means they'll get more and more tired of eternal life, becoming completely insane and seeking stronger emotions. They are already at the point of ruining lives for the sake of it and torturing/murdering each other because lesbian sex is already boring after a thosand years.
