Yeah, Dee and Luna are so far the only ones that got both event stories and limited panels. (Both are elves too, coincidence?)
I guess that would be evened out over time, as no characters have been repeated so far if you look at the events and panel campaigns separately.

I wanted to try out Gemini Seed too, but my PC and phone are too old to handle it.
Anyways, I think the main draw of Artwhirl is the story and characters. And the music is top-notch as well. Personally, the game falls right in my strike zone. Heartwarming stories, unique characters each with their own charm, good H-scenes (as long as you don't mind the vanilla), relative lack of paywalls (unless you really want those limited panels to decorate your home screen), and doesn't demand too much of your time.
Personally, this game has become my new favorite after the now-deceased Nuresuke Paradise, and it doesn't really seem a coincidence that both games have been praised for being excellent sidegames.
That said, the game isn't really for everyone in my opinion. You can quickly get bored if you're not interested in the story, because of its somewhat boring gameplay. The game doesn't do very hot in the rankings too, but I generally prefer to ignore that. (Hell, Nuresuke Paradise used to stay at the bottom all the time, except that one week when the pure off-limits navigator-ish character got her H-scene all of a sudden, shooting it up into top 3 in smartphone rankings. Your personal rankings don't have to match up with what the page shows you, is what I want to say.)

Anyways, tl;dr is: give it a try to see if you like it. It's fun for me, you might find it fun as well.
