It was obvious intended all along hence the why the game keeps referencing Dagra Magra and The White Haired Boy books, it's just that there is no value to the twist other than the fact it invalidates all of the game's character works and themes for... I don't know even know. Honestly the pre-awakening sequence in which Tamamori straight up makes fun of himself for falling into his nightmare is straight up offensive to me.

There was never a Minakami so to speak, the real one died as a child, the one in the game is just a sex fantasy.
