You only grow the ones you can't buy in a store ie. any of the many different species of magic mushrooms or expensive ones like shiitake, though shiitake would be interesting to grow because those you have to grow them off of old dry wood among other variations from standard growing, and they are fairly pretty so I want to try it at some point, though I'd have to build an entire separate terrarium for them so It wont be for awhile. Shiitake are really tasty too, so it's not like it wouldn't be worth the effort because they are pretty expensive from where I am from.

Syoko is my favorite idol for these exact reasons. I would love hearing about her set up and the various species she is growing. What her terrarium looks like, whether it is automated or if she looks after her "friends" manually. What kind of soil compositions she uses to get optimal growth for different species, whether she picks them right as the veils are breaking or if she lets her mushroom's spores go everywhere giving her mushrooms a wild and dusty look. Mushrooms really are beautiful, sometimes if I have a really big one growing, I'll just let him be and see how big he can get before he finally stops growing, though there is no real benefit to letting them grow past their peak, besides an enthusiasts pride or if you need to gather the spores to prep your next batch.
