Takes time my dude. I never said Anki was forbidden either, just don't use it when you should be enjoying stuff. My boring office job lets me do boring things like read news and drill anki, so I do it and "keep work at work" so to speak.

OFC this means you need to keep fresh words coming, which means you're hopefully reading stuff you like often enough to fill up about 20 cards or so to add to the pile each day.
