Jokes aside, I won't deny that ASMR can be non-sexual more often than not. I think the sensation has more to do with grooming and hushed tones than sex. These are things that seem to usually only be done in the company of close family (in other mammals, at least). I think the way it hits many of the same brain cells that sex does (speculation, no research has been done on this, to my knowledge) probably parallels the proximity of family units to sexual activity. Could be a coincidence, but I'm willing to bet there's something in there.
