One more thing before I quit this discussion and return you to your regular scheduled thread.

Imagine a field with everyone in it. Someone comes up to you, your mother, your brother, your best friend, or some guy on TV and hands you a rock saying "this is gold". You can tell pretty quick that they're wrong, it's a rock but there's some who carry that rock throughout their lives and treasure it and try convincing other people that it's gold.

You find someone else who hands you a piece of lead and says "this is gold" but you can tell that it's not gold at all but again there's people who carry it their whole lives and try convincing everyone they found gold.

And you meet another who hands you a piece of iron and says "this is gold" but you throw it away then declare "there is no gold, there never was any gold, people who believe in gold are stupid" and you run around trying to convince everyone to drop their rocks, or their lead, or their piece of string or whatever the hell they have saying "there is no gold, there never was any gold, people who believe in gold are stupid".

The number of religions in this world that can be right is 1 or 0. Either 1 is right and the rest are wrong or they're all wrong together. There are 5000 or 10,000 or 20,000 religions in this world. Thinking that because some are wrong they're all wrong, or even that because most are wrong they're all wrong is as stupid as yelling out that there is no gold because you never found any.

Most of the confusion people have is because of that problem. So many religions teach conflicting things about the nature of god and it makes it next to impossible to discover what's right and what's wrong and because what so many religions say is illogical it makes people think he just didn't exist from the start.
