Touhou is about a secluded Japanese traditionalist community focused heavily on spiritual matters, mythology, and maintaining an atmosphere of balance and serenity. Modern western culture and normalfags are the antithesis to the entire setting, and Violet Detector (and Sumireko herself) were at least partially designed to clearly illustrate this contrast. It's ironic that people want to inject their cancerous garbage into these games for the sake of their own worldview, when Touhou is supposed to be at least partially about returning to a simpler, purer, more beautiful time. I don't know about you, but it disgusts me.
