Honestly the current situation of literature in general in the west is just so weird.
In one hand you have hordes of people ready to spam "This is slop, read a REAL book instead" every time you so much speak positively of anything japanese, and mind you this is not only about LNs, but everything from anime to vidya too.
Yet at the same time western literature publishers are somehow in even more dire straits than LN localizers are, to the point of having to pull moves like literal tiktok viral marketing to get people to read books, and even then there's a massive secondhand book market full of near mint books because people just don't read.
Even libraries are drowning in donated books that nobody actually borrows.
>As always, learning Japanese is the remedy.
>all the more so since the prevalence of jp epubs everywhere is quickly rising.
Yeah pretty much.
More than ever before there's gorillion tools and tutorials to get the basics of grammar, start grinding vocab and get the ball rolling.
And unlike the dark ages of having to cope with proxy people to buy stuff from japan these days you can straight up buy 80% of the LNs you want on amazon and coping with the other 20% with bookwalker and calling it a day.
