It'd be nice for the plotline of one of the games to expand on the outside world a bit. There's a lot we don't know about it. It'll never happen, but seeing an Outsider-related faction as the main antagonists and their interactions with Gensokyo would be a neat premise.

They're hinted at a few times in the games. In PoFV I think either Komachi or Eiki say there was a "massive amount of people in the outside world who died at once and didn't realize they had passed on" which was part of the reason the incident of that game happened which seems to hint at either war or some other kind of superweapon/nukes. People meme about the NASA stuff too but I don't think it was ever mentioned if the Outside World's moon landing was the same as ours was it? It's possible the Outside World's USA is more high-tech and militaristic than ours, they could have sent an actual invasion force for all we know.
