OP, depending on what state you live in, I suggest going to the county social services office. at the very least if you don't have any income and whatnot, you'll probably get at least foodstamps immediately. things like healthcare, cash aid, social rehab etc take a bit longer, and if you want something in the forms of permanent disability, you'll want to go through the (federal) SSI (supplemental security income) which isn't very much but enough to live on if you're having long term problems (I know people dismiss something like social anxiety or alienation or isolation, but no one deserves to suffer, to feel bad about themselves just because they don't make the big bucks)

but I'll admit one thing: it is terribly easy to lose more than you thought once you slip into the complacency of welfare--the welfare officers and society and even other welfare recipients will try to rip apart the basic human dignity I think everyone no matter if they're a criminal or murderer or neet or shutit should be treated with--and conversely they themselves become less than human in the process which I also can't really reconcile. but ultimately there are a lot of good people out there who really wish the best for you.
