the beato that battler knew did not and could not return, for that was sayo wearing the mask of beatrice at the time and once she gave up and died at the end of ep5 that was it for her, the original 'beato' was dead and there was no way to put her back together in the exact same way
when she is resurrected, it is more akin to a rebirth, away with the old husk of sayo and in with the new 'true' body of beatrice - were beato to pull the same trick as she did in ep3 i don't think she'd need battler to close his eyes anymore, as she has truly separated herself from sayo at that point
the funeral in ep7 is her dirge, the final song of sayo yasuda before she is properly put to rest and beato is able to move forward, no longer worrying about a white horse promise that never came to be
