Well, isopods have a natural trap, where a form of the male imitates female behavior and apparance to escape detection of larger males. Wikipedia tells it better than I.

>Males are polymorphic and exist in 3 forms, α, β, and γ of different sizes. Of the three, α males are the largest and most dominant; they mate with multiple females in a harem. The β males mimic the females and therefore manage to mate with some of the females in an α male's harem. The γ form is much smaller and mimics the juvenile form, also allowing it to escape detection.

Also, the larvae eat the innards of their own mother, who loses her mouthparts on her last molt and cannot herself eat anything.

I like this isopod. For them, beta male means extremely convincing trap frequently hit on by men.

>A single male mates with many females (polygyny). Reproduction occurs within sponges and females are attracted to "harems" of other females and a dominant male.

>There are 3 types of males, all of which can breed. Alpha-males are the dominant males, beta-males are smaller and invade harems by copying female behaviour. Gamma-males are even smaller, are rapid swimmers and crawlers and invade harems by outmanoeuvring resident alpha-males.

Trap isopod is interesting I suppose.
