/jp/, I need your help.

I'm not depressed enough to logically consider the possible consequences of an action.

I met a girl before I dropped out of college. We didn't fuck. We were fairly close. I got the impression she was into me, but too shy to communicate her feelings. She was different from all the other girls I've known - Quiet. Demure. Intelligent. She was into movies from the 40s, and played the violin. She was pure. Completely untainted by modern culture. I sabotaged any chance I had at a relationship with her, and she still liked me.
When I dropped out of college, and moved away, I never said goodbye.
It's been more than a year, and I can't stop thinking about how I never even gave her a chance to know me. I don't care if she would have rejected me, or accepted me - I just want to tell her I'm sorry for leaving without saying goodbye.
In the past year, she has moved to California, changed majors, and maybe gotten married (To an overweight single father who is 5 years older than her, and who probably makes her happier than I ever could have).

I've written an e-mail, /jp/. It basically says, "I shouldn't have left without saying goodbye, and I know how pathetic it is for me to say this now, but I'm sorry." I can send it anonymously to her tonight.

What I want to know, /jp/, is what is the worst thing that can happen.
