I am laying out ideas for a VN with a hobo main character, in fact. Though it's different from the idea in that thread.

It's going to be based on this book. The main character is a gambler who discovers he only wins because he has the power to see and change probability, so he decides to throw it all away and travel the world seeing how he can use that power to help people.

I'm planning it to be short, only two routes confirmed.
