That's the mentality you should have and it's the mentality I would wish on all artists/entertainers. Deciding what to do based on the audience is how you get the modern state of music/film/video games where everything is done with the specific intent of satisfying the most people, which means it has to cater to the largest demographics, which means it has to cater to 90 IQ normalfags and everything comes out mind-numbing and bland.

You should do whatever you want. That goes for everyone, not just chuubas. Don't sacrifice your own well-being to be a slave to people you'll never even fucking meet just because you want a nicer car or more pretty clothes. That's pathetic.

That goes for anyone vying for some kind of popularity. Everyone wants to be popular - that's fine - but popular according to WHO? Would you be satisfied with having 1 billion fans if they were bugs? Okay, they're human, but what if they're murderers and rapists and drug dealers, is that still fine? No, you actually do care who likes you. Okay: what if they were whiny brats who didn't like the same things as you? There isn't 1 billion people in the world you care about. There isn't 1 million. There probably isn't even 1 thousand.

Everyone has to make a living, but the Holos do now, even after excommunicating the largest country in the world. They should do whatever they want. If people have constructive criticism that'd make even the Holos themselves more happy in the end, that's fine, but "doing what the viewer wants" is for soulless cucks.
