Touhou is not hard. Protip: All retro games are hard in comparison to next generation games. Also, Touhou artificially increases its difficulty by not having infinite continues. The same could be said of all retro games that don't allow save points. This Mario game, for example, can you imagine how hard this game would be if you had to beat the entire game with only 4 continues? Touhou's lack of saves artificially increases its difficulty. Hell, even the modern games would be considered hard if they had no save points.

Touhou's blueprint is:

1. Fly through an easy level while trying to stay awake.
2. Fight a semi challenging boss.
3. Rinse and repeat 1 and 2.

The contrast between the boss's difficulty and the level's difficulty, alone, is enough reason to hate Touhou. Flying through a predefined 2 dimensional plane mashing the shoot button only to be defeated by a boss and be forced to go through the entire easy/boring level again. I stand by my words when I say Shoot the bullet is the only decent Touhou game. Shoot the bullet is Touhou without the filler.
