crystal lizard in DeS have limited spawns. They spawn 1 by default+1 for every boss in the zone you've beaten. Dying to the boss repeteadly can use up lizard spawns if you trgger them. At least that was how it was in the original. If they get away, tough luck. It's especially rough since their drops aren't fixed iirc and upgrade paths are locked to specific regions and levels. For example high level faith path upgrades (the ones Noel needs for her mace) can drop ONLY from lizerds on the last level of the swamp, and lower tiers of those materials appear only in the swamp. That lizard might be the only enemy in the game that drops the material required to fully upgrade her mace and it's has limited spawns. There's a very low chance it drops from regular enemies which is why she's farming these shitters that don't drop any souls. Otherwise have fun in ng+
