Airfix kits have a lot of warping problems from what I've heard. I mostly did airplanes and a few tanks with Yamato being my first ship. Seems like tanks>ships>planes in order of difficulty to me. The Yamato is an old Arii kit with really awful looking 25mm AA guns and a giant protrusion on the bottom of the hull for some tiny electric motor propeller.

I guess you'll be painting the deck black for her Kai2 form?
