Gah, why do you all live in remote places like that? My last girlfriend turned out to be a southerner from Louisiana and it became a long distance relationship.

My problem has never been lack of motivation or ability. I've had 4 girlfriends since HS and all have been at least vaguely otaku. I've often been complimented on my good looks (Usually by old ladies but whatever, I'll take compliments where I can get them.) and I've been told I have a sexy voice. Although I'm a pig disgusting otaku at heart, I can at least hide it convincingly enough that I'm sure I could get a normalfag girlfriend if I wanted to. Of course, who on /jp/ would want that? There just *aren't* any desirable options around, none that aren't taken anyway.

Girlfriend nothing; I just wish more people like you were around so I could talk about /jp/ stuff IRL with more people. I've only got one friend I can really freely discuss the "more obscure" forms of Japanese entertainment beyond anime and video games with. It's frustrating only having a few people to discuss things with, really.

Granted, /jp/ stuff I would just never talk about in public, so that sort of makes it difficult, with strangers you've just met in a public place, to feel out whether or not they like the same things.
