You'll be shat on, but you're right. Though most people are completely ignorant on how politics affect their lives or any posibilites beyond what they now know, so telling them this will only hurt their brains. When you see these folks talk about politics, you're talking to Americans whose only experience with "politics" is voting blue or red every couple years, or other highly Americanized Westerners in similar situations.

So you'll have to stand out of their sunlight.
