You best start believing in depressing universes, Mister Anon… you're in one!

Be glad that Eiki ripping out your tongue is just a meme and dying in Gensokyo is easy since the worst you get is a long boat ride across the river. If it were accurate, well…
You end up in a dark place ravaged by raging winds and the screams of the damned. First you are assaulted by birds that pluck your eyes and flay your skin, then you have to climb a jagged sharp mountain as tall as your greed. Oh and if you lag behind an Oni smashes your spine with an iron club.
Then finally after seven days you reach the Sanzu and meet your first trial of eight or so. You are judged for the amount of life you've snuffed, down to the insect. Good boys and girls get a bridge (the easiest part of the journey), while the rest get to swim through rapids full of snakes. Worst offenders are dumped straight into hell.
Cross the Sanzu and more Oni strip you of your clothes, if you ditched them in the river they take your flayed skin instead. They are then hung on a branch and the amount the branch sags is how much sin you carry.
Fourteen days after your death you are judged once more, this time for theft. Again, the worst are spared the rest of the journey and go to hell. The rest are sent off to endure more trials and to get to the third you pass through a gate guarded by Oni. These guys are fun and chop off limbs willy nilly if you used them to sin. Then you gotta swim through another river, wider than the Sanzu, except this time it's boiling and reeks of sulfur.
Twenty-one days in and you reach the third trial measuring your lust. A nice cat judges the men by biting their dicks, and the women get the snake to act as a depth meter.
In the fourth trial Twenty-eight days on, your soul is weighed against stones representing the amount of lies you told, be a compulsive liar and get damned to the part of hell where they rip your tongue out with tongs and burning hooks for eternity.
More harrowing adventures to come as to get to your next trial you get to flex your Touhou skill and dodge molten iron raining from the sky. Dodge the best you can, all the while you madly dash across a desolate scorching wasteland of indeterminate length.
Thirty-five days in and barely closer to the end brings you to your fifth trial overseen by our fair Enma who decides what realm you will be reborn to. The mirror reveals all.
Almost done, on your fourty-second day of unlife your sixth trial determines the location of your rebirth within the realm determined by Lord Enma and the scales.
On your way to the final judgement you get swarmed by firebreathing birds, in the dark. Passing the threshold on the fourty-ninth day, whereupon you receive your final trial, and final chance to avoid damnation to hell. The conditions of your rebirth are determined.
After all of this, after all the torment and judgements on the way there, you then given a blind choice between six gateways leading to the different realms. So choose wisely.
