Fine. Don't respond, write. When you think of the hate you could get, keep writing. Don't write something so good that it'll turn people on to fanfiction, write something so damn good that the haters will be deafened by your fans praise.
You're NOT going to please the haters; it can't be done. But unless you write something REALLY REALLY bad (and if you've gotten any praise in the past at all, you won't) they're going to hate on you once or twice and then FORGET YOU EXIST unless you respond. Yeah, anonymity isn't foolproof, but nobody is going to hate you enough to identify you from your posts alone.
I'm not asking you to not care about the hate; you shouldn't, but you do. I'm asking you to go through with it anyway. When they knock you on your ass, get up and walk past them.
