I don't want to make this political or anything, but if your country is in the grand scheme of things actually a pretty shitty place (Lescatie was full of class issues, poverty, and is made to sound like a pretty bad place that over-focused on the zealot monster slaying rather than the welfare of its people) then... someone better coming in and making life better should kinda make you forget whatever misplaced pride you had for the old way.
To quote my favorite movie of all time, "People should know when they're conquered". But ultimately to each their own mang, its fun to discuss to some degree but this ain't a philosophy thread, you do you.
