Tatarigoroshi and the whole village uniting to save Satoko in Minagoroshi are some of Ryuukishi's favorite parts too. If something is going to change/save Satoko, it'll happen in her own arc. That's where such plot developments have to be, anyways. Things clearly changed after Tataridamashi and the structure of Nekoakashi won't offer many opportunities or even screentime for that. Its 4 episodes are already jam-packed just resolving its own subplots and ending the series.
