The story is linear. If you fail at the minigame you have to keep retrying to until you win and progress with the story.

There's link to walkthrough (showing maps of the minigame) and 100% savegame so you may skip the minigames over here http://tinyurl.com/sharnoth

You just need to not miss the "Four Voices" in first half of each minigame, which you can read at the docs. Second half may be skipped.
