Due to some private issues, throughout the majority of my life I have had a condition that is very similar to Emotional Disassociation. To try and describe it, I can feel emotions, but they are always at a distance and don't really effect me. I can feel sad, but it doesn't make me cry, for example. (I'm doing better, but it's slow progress)

Onto Mio, I have heard people talking about things being beautiful enough to make them cry. Things like art, sunsets, natural beauty etc. I never really got it, because I had never experienced anything that could do that to me. Then one day, after finding Mio from the “Miso Soup” video, I was relaxing and listening to one of her karaoke streams.

Listening to her sing, I realised that all the tension in my body had released and, for no apparent reason at all, I was crying. I finally understood the feeling of experiencing something so beautiful that it brings you to tears. I don't want to take it out of proportion, but the phrase I can use to describe it is like I was finally seeing in colour for the first time I could remember.

I know my own thoughts pretty well, and I can say for fairly certain that if I had continued the way I was going I would have been in a pretty dark place by now. That experience was a wake up call, and allowed me to start finally working on my issues. It wasn't easy, but when things became tough or I felt overwhelmed, I could always turn on a Mio stream and just allow myself to feel for a bit.

It really helped me through some tough times.

I know just posting some admittedly bad memes pales in comparison, but I think it was kind of my way to pay her back.

She will probably never read this, but to mark the 365th day of my journey I just wanted to say this:

Thank you Mio, for all that you do. It may seem like a small thing from a stranger, but you truly did impact my life, as well as the lives of many others, in an immensely positive way.
