All of the characters look fucking stupid in the anime. The VN 'art style' of piling twenty Photoshop textures on top of each other permits its own character design that doesn't work when you're using plain colors instead..

I guess it says more about the anime studio just not giving a fuck, though. Shaft put a lot of effort into giving Bakemonogatari the books' trademark fragmented, almost schizophrenic storytelling style, but White Fox couldn't even replicate this art style.

It's not like the art in the VN was all that good either, though. This CG is laughably bad.
