The game I'm playing right now has it dropped multiple times before the first h-scene, then dropped during the h-scene, then sprinkled around afterwards. It's more serious than 大好き because it's explicitly romantic attraction whereas 大好き gets used for all sorts of shit but it's not some massive bombshell, it's just an unambiguous 'I love you' that comes up all the time in fiction in the same way 'I love you' comes up in western fiction. Fucking Persona 4 has it dropped in the final cutscene by Rise and no one bats an eye even though theoretically she's not even your girlfriend.

I don't know what moeges you are playing to have most of them not even have 愛してる show up, they sound like ones with shit confession scenes at the very least.
