Age and time are irrelevant to fairies. They come into existence as facets of the natural world: some might embody youthful traits, fertility, or growth while others might embody older traits, death, and/or rebirth.

Additionally they do not exist in time in a manner like humans. Humans plod along the forth dimension in a linear fashion, with their perspectives limited to a singular point. Fairies can move about time and alternate timelines much as a human moves about in the first three dimensions. This is why, in many myths, humans who enter into the fae realm might feel that only a night has passed, but re-emerge into the world to find centuries have gone by, or even arrive in the past.
