The fastest way to improve your reading speed, coming from someone better than every single one of you losers (especially quizslave), is to develop an innate sense of familiarity with the language such that you can skim your eyes over the text and pick up the majority of relevant information from a glance at the words without slowing down to sound them out, piece together grammar, or any of that shit. Just live and breath the Japanese. It's that simple.

You are right about learning kanji meanings, it will make vocab easier in the long run.
But you don't have to do all 2032 at once before you even start anything else. 1000 kanji is enough to read easy stories.
Reading is the #1 way to get good so you should start doing it asap
