/jp/ - Otaku Culture

Kinda sucks going to Japan finally now after getting into anime around 2005. The last few years I haven't really watched much anime or thought much about its culture etc.

I mean, I like to travel and it's a beautiful place, but part of me wishes I came here 10-15 years ago when my favorite anime shows were popular and I was a bit younger. Would have been nice to see all the promos for Kantai Collection right when it came out, or merchandise for other old anime series I like. I see the odd section of KanColle in doujinshi shops and figures but it's definitely on the way out. Picked up some stuff from Suruga-yas bargain bins for 150 yen kancolle related.

I dunno, great trip for a month so far, I just wish I could of been here 15-20 years ago when I was in my 20s as well. I have no idea what the people today watch or are into or am not interested myself. Anyways, it was a fun day. Took lots of pics and had a private English guide for the museum.
