If HALF a chicken lays half an egg each half day, a whole chicken lays one whole egg each whole day.
Half a dozen chickens, we have to assume it means WHOLE chickens, since it explicitly stated HALF chickens in the first part.
Thus, six WHOLE chickens.
Half a week is obviously either 2.5 days (working day-week) or 3.5 days (actual week)

If 2.5, the answer is either 15, 6+6+3, or simply 12, 6+6, since half eggs =\= whole eggs.

If 3.5, the answer is either 21, 6+6+6+3, or simply 18, 6+6+6, since half eggs =\= whole eggs.

We could of course imagine they simply forgot to mention the HALF part of chickens in the question part, in which case it would be:

Half a week, 2.5 days or 3.5 days.

If 2.5 days, the answer is either 7.5 eggs, 3+3+1.5, or 6 eggs, 3+3, since "LOL NO HALF HALF EGGS", OR 0 eggs, since fuck you, you can't have half eggs in the first place!

If 3.5 days, the answer is either 10.5 eggs, 3+3+3+1.5, or 9 eggs, 3+3, since "LOL NO HALF HALF EGGS", OR 0 eggs, since fuck you, you can't have half eggs in the first place!

Since 12 is the only answer we are given on the paper, we have to assume this was the result of a trolling teacher, and they meant WHOLE eggs, and a working day-week.

Or... it could be even more of a clever troll, not giving any right answers, making NO answers correct, thus you lose by default.

These are the only possibilities if you actually know maths.
