While that's true, I don't think I've ever seen a piece of canon media in which the ships crabwalk like that.

Carrier combat is harder to play out too, since (whether by design or by accident) most of a carrier's weaknesses (having to maintain a CAP, requiring a long time to rearm/refuel/replace various bombers and fighters) aren't an issue when you just have a quiver and a bow you can shoot at will.

Unless you're Taihou, who I assume has to change mags or the contents of her crossbow, because fuck Taihou.
