Depends of what you consider "better". For me, the thing that attracted me the most at first was the PVs and the "immersion" of the notes flying over the screen. In my opinion, much better interface than the boring and autistic rail of others games, like beatmania, guitar hero, etc. and much in the line of another favourite of mine: Osu! Ouendan Tatakae! (not to be confused by the modern Osu! that I personally hate).

For the songs, I remember liking Love is War and a couple of other songs in the first Project DIVA of PSP but that was all. Then, as I keep playing, other songs started to grow on me, I started searching for more songs of the artists I liked, one thing lead to another and when I realised, Miku deleted all my western music from my player and I became trapped in this slippery slope forever.

But what >>17627809 mentions happens to me quite frequently. Songs that I don't like in the first try easily becomes favourites of mine after listening to them 10 times. Not sure why it happens.
