Reminder that there's a massive community of people learning Japanese out there outside of DJT, MIA, your tiny private 4chan discords, reddit, and college classes, and the quibbles you drag yourself into are pathetic.

Can you imagine being so insecure that you haunt DJT with your active presence all day every day, posting about the same thing over and over again and getting into arguments with people who you claim you don't care about?

Imagine doing that in, like, a community dedicated to learning typing or photoshop. Absolutely ridiculous. Get over yourselves and just learn Japanese. It really is that easy. You can expose individual beginners giving bad advice if you want, but leave it at that.

It doesn't matter whether your vocab cards have screenshots on the back or not or whether you're mining with Yomichan or Nazeka or whether your reading material is focused on dialogue or narration or whether or not you're actually talking to Japanese people on the regular. It doesn't matter how dumb or mistaken the typical member of some random internet community is, and nothing you personally do could possibly change it.

All you have to do is keep consuming Japanese, not quit, and not make an absolute buffoon out of yourself. It's that simple.

pretending to care about media itself on more than a surface level is pretentious and bad for your mental health
the only thing that matters is the experience and what you take out of it long term, nothing is actually deep or mindful except for what it does to you automatically
