This reminds me of an idea I had.

The united goverments of the world, upon repeated attacks on moon based research and scientific stations by the previously unknown Lunarians, declare war on the Moon.

The story then goes on as the first wave of human armies (spearheaded by a joint Delta Force/Spetsnaz attack team) engages the Lunarians.

Think Salvation War but with Moon Rabbits and Moon instead of Demons and Hell
