I have a small lake in the back of my property that has a large population of Spring Peepers every year. When they sing in unison every night it is one of the most relaxing sounds in the world. I leave the back window open and it echoes through my house. In a way they are like Lily White in that they don't start their nightly song until spring finally arrives. They have an innate ability to recognize "True Spring" in that if there are a few weeks of Spring temperatures but snow is going to arrive again they will not begin their nightly call until after the final snow has arrived. One thing that always amazed me is when they stop singing late at night they all stop at the exact same time.

I should record them one of these nights.
