I am going to be moving into my own apartment, and I don't have a bed.

I thought for the heck of it I'd try out getting a proper futon since I don't like beds very much anyway, but I can't figure out where to buy one.

Any suggestions?

I have a very small amount of room to live in (10'x10') so I figured I would get a futon so I could roll it up after sleeping and have more room for having guests over and such. Does anyone here own one? Does anyone know of a good manufacturer I can order from? My friend had a very comfortable one from Tuft & Needle but they stopped selling them.

Sorry for shitting up your lovely board but you are the experts and I need some help.

I'm moving into a small apartment/loft conversion soon, and I do not have room for a normal bed. Initially I planned to just put my mattress on the floor but I've read some bad things about mould, and it's also a big pain to move around. I'm not particularly interested in Japanese culture, but I am pragmatic, so I would like to purchase a tatami mat and futon set for sleeping on the floor.

Unfortunately I'm a stickler for quality so I want to import from Japan - they invented the things so they'll be the best at making them. Budget is a non-issue, I don't mind spending a lot if I know it will be good. I've checked Rakuten but the Engrish is impenetrable.

How does /jp/ sleep?

I'm about to move out of a condo into a house and I will need to furnish my own bedding. I've been mulling over buying a futon mattress to sleep on instead of a mattress and frame, but it would be strictly for cost and aesthetic reasons as the room would have plenty of space to leave the bed out all day. Do any of you sleep on a futon or do you prefer mattress and frame?
