I absolutely adore Tanuki on folklore and design, and Mamizou is my favorite 2hu as well as waifu, if I had to say I have one.
Terrible dearth of swag to buy though. She only has two shitty garage kits for figures and relatively little fanart, particularly given the immense amount of official screen time focused on her.
I think one day I'm just going to custom-make a giant bushy tail daki.

So even if that particular Tanuki has no waifufag lusting after her, the race sure does. She just needs to step up her game.

I'd say yes. They're my first choice of monstergirl. Not because of money, or fluffy tail, or even the delightful ability to transform into other women.
It's not even the legendary craftiness that puts foxes to shame.
No, I love them because of the earthiness associated with them. Lending money, starting businesses, leading villages - all that is out of a love of community and life. They are top tier comfy monstergirls with well appointed houses where they host meals for the town every weekend. They even look comfy. Those gentle green and brown tones to evoke leaves on fur remind me of the forests of my homeland.
9/10 would bang, bang some more while pregnant, feed spirit energy to daughterus, arrange marriages to local boys, and host grand feasts at every opportunity.
