the story? better, I think. better main character (i like him a lot, he's probably best girl) and the plot's a lot tighter. has actual antagonists too, instead of 'everything's awful but it's nobody's fault', here everything is awful but it's clearly a certain somebody's fault.

less episodic, basically. heroine routes are still kind of half-assed, though i've only done the imouto and kouhai ones. imouto was solid if rushed. kouhai was bizarre in that in order to get to it you have to cut away everything and everyone related to the main plot, and my complaint is that, well, nothing happens. the drama isn't even about her, it's about her friend. but, that's literally what you asked for. so it's weird in that you get what you wanted but maybe that's not actually what you wanted.

i'll probably do a giant write-up about it when i'm finished the two major plot routes since there's a lot to talk about, but generally it's a really engaging read with likeable characters you really feel for, but save the branch routes for after because they kill the momentum the main plot does a real good job of building like nothing else.
