It's not so easy being a fairy. For one, you'd be dumb as rocks and you'd end up getting murdered the minute something weird like spring lasting a day too long happens. Sure, you come back but dying still hurts. Also, non-magical humans are still strong enough to easily overpower a fairy and they might end up "venting their frustration" on you after the pranks you pulled on them.

Rather than cutting their wings off, you should use a fairy's wings as handlebars for when you're using them. Be sure to squeeze as hard as you can and to tug down whenever they start struggling too much. If they accidentally rip off, then chokeraping is also acceptable at that point. Fairies are immortal anyway, so it's not like it's murder.
