It doesn't matter what's "proper" as long as it's accepted. I meant that it's fine for the japanese fandom and the english fandom to have different pronunciations or for the romanizations to not correspond exactly. This isn't even as weird as Flandre, where the japanese say フランドール, the "official" romanization is Frandre, yet we don't even follow that because it's clear and accepted that it's intended to be Flandre. It just isn't a problem.
