For some reason, the Hakurei Border disappears and Gensokyo is completely revealed to the world. It is located in the Yatsugatake mountain range. It previously appeared to be uninhabited forest and mountains, but now its landmarks are clearly visible due to the barrier's destruction. For story's sake, let's assume that Yukari let this happen (out of character but let's say she was bored for this hypothesis)
There would be immediate shock and disbelief within the Japanese government, who would immediately attempt to contain the incident following a bunch of hikers being salughtered by Youkai. Visitors would be turned away from Yatsugatake-Chūshin Kōgen Quasi-National Park and a heavy government, including military forces, would surround Gensokyo. The government would probably make some cover story and create psyops to combat the evidence and theories of a massive inhabited region like Gensokyo suddenly appearing. Officially, Gensokyogate would be a hoax, but there would be widespread conspiracy theories and outcry. We can only assume most of the inhabitants of Gensokyo, especially Youkai, would immediately become frightened and retreat into Gensokyo; a few humans would probably willingly make contact with the outsiders out of curiosity. The government would send research teams into Gensokyo to learn more about this anomaly and its inhabitants. Reimu Hakurei, the Hakurei Border's guardian, would likely immediately go to investigate the 'incident'. She would likely tell them to fuck off because they disturbed her peace or something; the government, taking a diplomatic approach, would politely reply with "fuck no". This is where conflict would likely occur. Reimu would most likely consider their point of view, but still reject them considering it's her job to preserve Gensokyo, which still means keeping out outsiders, even if they're human. After failed diplomacy with a 16 year old girl, the government would likely send in teams, because Reimu can't guard everywhere at once. This would probably end poorly for the outsiders; since Youkai are faith-based creatures, they can only be attacked with faith-based and magical weaponry (Reimu's main weapons are ofuda and Marisa uses talismans) because it actually attacks their souls. I assume most of the soldiers would be atheist/non-superstitious and their weapons would be unblessed. A rifle may be able to damage the physical form a youkai takes on, but their soul/spirit still lingers. The research teams and soldiers would likely get killed by even low level shitters like Rumia and Mystia. The Youkai would likely discover these new humans are near completely harmless and begin spilling over the government's perimeter to begin slaughtering them.
