I find that to be the shittiest possible message to be sending to new readers like myself, though.

"Oh hey, yeah, we only have limited time to print this, so you better go ahead and Wikipedia everything to know why you should be cheering for the good guys, and against the bad guys."

That's like the worst possible storytelling they could do, assuming you start at Issue #1.


They killed someone off already? Well shit, that's terrible, they haven't got me to like ANY of them yet.

And yeah, I chose Red Lanterns as an example more to say, "Even something like Red Lanterns can do [X]." I think it's alright, but I could understand how you wouldn't agree.
