Not really been a fan of that at least in the games I've played, especially if they make the bro's girlfriend a complete joke no real person would ever want to date. I wouldn't mind bros getting girls more often as it usually just makes me cheer for them, but for the rest of the pure love audience I guess one way of going about it would be to do it like KKK or Minori's ef, multiple protagonists each with their own heroine, though then the writer would have to work more and they'd probably lose the self insert blank slate aspect as well.

遥かに仰ぎ、麗しの had a good coworker bro character with his own proper heroine, and they tell very early that she has a crush on him, so it won't come as a blueballing surprise for the players. The pair even gets married.
