While I won't say that Kitsunes all inherently smell bad, they'd 100% be the kind of mamono to mask their natural stink with perfumes depending on region. For instance, Desert Foxes or Anubi would in my mind typically smell like botanicals like anise, bergamot, coriander, or even sandalwood and jasmine. Whereas the foxes of the Mist Continent and Zipangu would smell more like pine, cypress, possibly even oranges and sandalwood as well.

This, of course, is just headcanon autism and likely because of how mamono mana tends to work in MGE they'll smell like whatever makes you love them the most.
